- Removing the Old MacPherson Strut Spring: First, lubricate the threaded portion of the compressor rod body to ensure that subsequent operations proceed smoothly and to protect the threads. Select the appropriate fork yoke based on the spring’s size, and secure the fork yoke to the compressor body with bolts. Insert the fork yoke into the spring and ensure the spring is locked into the groove. Use a manual wrench to narrow the spacing between the fork yoke, compress and remove the old spring
- Installing a New MacPherson Strut Spring: After removing the old spring, rotate the manual wrench in the opposite direction to widen the spacing between the fork yoke and remove them. Then similarly, compress the new spring and install it on the vehicle. The fork's asymmetrical design, with one side higher than the other, conforms to the spiral spring structure. - Please Note: For conical coil spring, the spacer needs to be used for keeping the spring's centerline parallel to the compressor rod body, ensuring that the force is evenly distributed across the top and bottom of the spring and preventing deformation. While operating, NEVER point either end of the spring toward anyone to prevent injury from accidental operation. If you feel that the protective cover is loose, remove it before use to ensure that the spring is securely locked into the fork head
